Our History

For over three decades, Essex & Morris Contracting Co. Inc. has been a cornerstone of the construction industry in Essex and Morris Counties, New Jersey. Our story began in 1984 with John M. Trezza, who, along with his partner, founded the company with a vision to become a reliable and trusted partner for paving and roofing needs. In 1985, John bought out his partner and shifted the company's focus solely to residential paving, setting the stage for future growth and specialization.

John's commitment to excellence and dedicated work ethic soon attracted a loyal clientele. In 1994, John married Cynthia, who joined the company as Vice President, bringing a wealth of experience and a sharp business acumen. Together, they embarked on a journey to expand Essex & Morris's services to encompass concrete and masonry work, propelling the company into new territories and building a strong foundation for future success.

Their dedication to customer satisfaction and commitment to quality craftsmanship soon garnered recognition, allowing Essex & Morris to venture beyond residential work and secure lucrative contracts in the commercial sector. In 2017, the next generation joined the team: Anthony, John and Cynthia's son, became Secretary, bringing fresh perspectives and a drive to innovate. With Anthony's arrival, Essex & Morris stepped further into the 21st century, leveraging his modern business knowledge and technological expertise to expand the company's reach and impact.
